
Pet Policy & Sitting Agreement
1. Introduction
Welcome to April Hudgins Pet Care Services LLC. Our mission is to deliver reliable, compassionate, and professional care for your pets and peace of mind for you. This policy outlines the terms, responsibilities, and expectations between you (the Client) and April Hudgins Pet Care LLC to ensure safe, clear, and consistent service.
2. Services Provided
We offer the following services:

In-home pet sitting (visits, overnight stays)

Dog walking & exercise visits

Pet boarding (daycare, overnight)

Pet Transportation
-
Additional services as agreed (medication administration, special needs pets, etc.)
3. Client & Pet Requirements
3.1 Client Responsibilities
-
Provide keys, access codes, alarm instructions, and clear entry/exit details.
-
Disclose any known behavioral issues (aggression, anxiety, biting), medical conditions, or special needs.

Provide detailed care instructions, including schedule, feeding, and medication.
-
Provide all necessary supplies (food, medications, litter, bedding).
-
Ensure the home environment is safe and access is clear (fenced areas secure, hazards removed).
3.2 Pet Health & Behavior
-
Pets must be up to date on vaccinations as required by law (e.g., Rabies, Distemper/Parvo for dogs) and free from contagious illness.

Dogs that are boarded must have the Bordetella vaccine.

Pets must be free of parasites (fleas, ticks).
-
Dog(s) must be comfortable on a leash to ensure safety in an emergency.
-
The Company reserves the right to refuse or terminate service if a pet’s condition or behavior presents a risk.
3.3 Meet & Greet
-
A meet & greet is required before starting service. This allows us to familiarize ourselves with your pets, home, and routines, and ensures the service is a good fit. This is your opportunity to provide all relevant care information.
3.4 Farm, Livestock, & Outdoor Animal Care
-
We also provide care for farm animals such as chickens, ducks, goats, horses, pigs, and other livestock. The Client must provide clear feeding, turnout, and enclosure instructions, and all fences/gates must be secure. Any known risks (e.g. aggressive roosters, horses that kick) must be disclosed. Due to the time and labor required, farm/livestock visits may be billed at adjusted or custom rates.
4. Service Schedule & Execution

Visits will take place within an agreed time window (± 60 minutes of the scheduled time).

Overnight stays: The sitter will reside overnight in the client’s home and may come and go throughout the day; however, they will not exceed the agreed-upon duration that the animal(s) may be left unattended. The sitter shall not be out later than 11:00 p.m. unless alternative arrangements are requested by the client.

Boarding/daycare: Specific details of boarding arrangements—including schedules, sleeping accommodations, and the presence of other pets—will be discussed and agreed upon with the client prior to the start of service.

The Company will provide updates/photos as agreed (text or email).

If the sitter cannot gain access due to key or code issues, the visit may be delayed or canceled.
5. Payment & Fees
-
The following rates apply to all services unless otherwise agreed upon in writing:

Drop in Visit: ​15 min = $20; 30 min = $30; 45 min = $45; 1 hour ​= $55;
-
Overnight Stay = $100; Overnight Boarding = $85
-
In-home Day Care = $75
-
Boarding Day Care = $45
-
Pet Transportation = $0.50/1 mile

The following fees may apply unless otherwise agreed upon in writing:
-
4 or more Animals: Add an additional $20 to Overnight Stay rate; Add an additional $5 per visit rate.

Overnight Stays: If you require an early arrival and/or late departure on the first and last day of the sit, you will be charged and additional $25-50
-
Medical: For those animals requiring injections and wound care, an additional $5 will be added per application of service.

Holidays: We include a Holiday fee of $15 per service rendered on the following Observed Holidays:

Thanksgiving (Thursday-Sunday)

Festive Season: Dec 23 through Observed New Year’s Day

*Weekends are considered Friday through Monday

Invoices will be sent via email and text within 3 days of completed service.
-
Payment is due within 15 days of receiving the invoice.
-
Late payments may incur a $5 daily fee.
6. Cancellation & Rescheduling
-
Cancellations must be made at least 2 weeks before the start of service to avoid a 50% fee.
-
If the Company must cancel due to sitter illness or emergency, the Client will be notified as soon as possible and efforts will be made to provide alternate care.
7. Emergency Veterinary Care & Release
-
In a medical emergency, the Company will attempt to contact the Client and/or emergency contact and veterinarian.
-
If no one can be reached, the Company is authorized to seek veterinary treatment at the Client’s expense.
-
The Client agrees to reimburse the Company for veterinary costs and any related time/transportation charges.
-
The Company is not liable for outcomes related to pre-existing conditions or medical treatment.
8. Liability & Indemnification
-
While the Company takes all reasonable precautions, the Client understands that caring for animals and accessing homes involves inherent risks.
-
The Company, its owner, and contractors are not liable for injury, illness, escape, death, or damage caused by the pet(s), except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
-
The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Company from claims arising from the pet’s behavior, property conditions, or undisclosed information.
9. Home Entry & Security

The Company will secure the home after each visit according to clients instruction unless otherwise requested.
-
The Company is not responsible for alarm malfunctions, lost keys not provided, or unauthorized third-party access.
-
All indoor cameras must be disclosed to protect sitter privacy.
10. Pet Behavior & Property Damage
-
The Client is responsible for any damage caused by their pet during service.
-
The Company will make reasonable efforts to prevent damage but cannot guarantee behavior.
-
If a pet presents a safety risk, service may be terminated immediately.
11. Multiple Sitters / Shared Care
-
The Company prefers to handle all visits directly to ensure consistency.
-
If outside caregivers are involved, the Client must inform the Company and coordinate schedules.
-
The Client accepts responsibility for any issues arising from shared care.
12. Pet Transportation
-
Transportation is offered for vet visits, grooming, boarding, or approved destinations.
-
Pets must have ID tags.
-
The owner provides needed items (carrier, leash, records).
-
The Company is not liable for accidents or emergencies beyond its control.
-
Fees are based on distance.
13. Photo & Social Media Use
-
The Company may take photos or videos of pets during service for updates or marketing unless the Client opts out in writing.
14. Changes to Services / Policy Amendments
-
The Company may update this policy at any time. Clients will be notified of significant changes.
-
Clients must inform the Company promptly of any changes to routines, medications, access, or contacts.
15. Dispute Resolution
-
Any disputes shall be resolved by mediation before resorting to court.
16. Acknowledgement & Signature
